Discreet shipping and pick-up points: receiving without revealing your address

You can protect your identity in the smallest details and lose everything at the final stage: the parcel label. An address in plain sight, a name on the docket, packaging that betrays its contents — and anonymity collapses.

Switzerland, however, has an ideal network to avoid this. This guide sets out how to use PickPost pick-up points and My Post 24 lockers with a simple code / QR, to ship and receive without ever revealing where you live.

The principle: collection points rather than home addresses

On Weared, the seller drops off at a collection point — a PickPost or a My Post 24 locker — near where they live, in Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich, Bern, Basel or Lugano, never from home. In Switzerland, the buyer chooses a My Post 24 locker, a PickPost point or home delivery (the only option for shipments abroad); with a locker or pick-up point, their address is never passed on.

In that case, the parcel travels from one pick-up point to another. Neither the postman, nor the buyer, nor anyone turns up at your door. Your home appears on no document.

PickPost: collecting at a counter, under a pseudonym

A PickPost point is a location (a post office or partner shop) where a shipment awaits you, without being delivered to your home. In Switzerland, you identify yourself with a personal PickPost number and an ID, but from the other party's point of view, your address remains invisible: the buyer sees only a collection point, not your street.

  • Choose a PickPost that is not right at your doorstep, so as not to betray your neighbourhood.
  • You receive a notice when the parcel is available.
  • You collect at the counter, discreetly, during opening hours.

My Post 24 locker: self-service collection, 24/7, by code or QR

The My Post 24 is an automated parcel station: a bank of lockers accessible at any hour. It is the most discreet option, as there is neither counter nor human contact.

It works simply:

  • When the parcel arrives in the locker, you receive a notification with a code (and usually a QR code).
  • You go to the machine, scan the QR or enter the code on the screen.
  • The locker containing your shipment opens. You retrieve the parcel in a few seconds.

For shipping, the principle is symmetrical: you place the parcel in a locker, a code / QR validates the operation, and the shipment sets off towards the locker, pick-up point or address chosen by the buyer. No handwritten label bearing your address is needed.

Neutral packaging: the art of saying nothing

A pick-up point is useless if the parcel shouts its contents. The Weared rule is neutral packaging:

  • An opaque box or pouch, plain, with no logo or mention of the nature of the contents.
  • No reference to the brand, no message visible from the outside.
  • A carefully arranged interior — the piece is presented elegantly, protected, shielded from view until it reaches its recipient.

Discretion is read in the plainness. A beautiful anonymous parcel is worth more than talkative packaging.

The full course of a shipment, step by step

  • 1. The buyer orders and pays: with direct bitcoin, to your address, without Weared touching the funds; by card or under the guarantee, through Weared.
  • 2. With direct payment you are credited immediately; under the guarantee, once shipping is proven. Either way, you are invited to ship.
  • 3. You prepare a neutral parcel and drop it in a My Post 24 locker or at a counter, via code / QR.
  • 4. The parcel travels to the locker, pick-up point or address chosen by the buyer.
  • 5. The buyer collects with their own code / QR (or receives the parcel at home), without ever knowing your address.
  • 6. You enter the tracking number, which is mandatory: the buyer follows the parcel through to delivery, and the order closes.

At no point has your home circulated. That is exactly the purpose of the house.

Tips on discretion in Switzerland

Choose a collection point a little away from your street. Collect at times of low footfall if you prioritise anonymity. Keep the code / QR safe, never share it, and delete it once the collection is done. These simple habits, added to the Swiss network of lockers, make your address quite simply untraceable.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between PickPost and My Post 24?

PickPost is a counter (a post office or partner shop) where you collect during opening hours. My Post 24 is an automated locker station, accessible 24/7, where you collect on your own with a code or a QR, without human contact.

How is collection done at a My Post 24 locker?

You receive a notification with a code and usually a QR code. At the machine, you scan the QR or enter the code on the screen, and the locker containing your parcel opens.

Can the buyer see my address on the parcel?

No. You drop the parcel at a pick-up point, never from home; the buyer collects it at their own locker or pick-up point, or receives it at home. Your home address appears on no document.

What does the packaging look like?

It is neutral: opaque, plain, with no logo or mention of the contents or of the brand. Nothing, from the outside, gives away what the parcel is carrying.

When am I paid if I ship via a pick-up point?

With direct bitcoin, the buyer pays your Lightning address at purchase and Weared never touches the money: you are paid immediately in your Bitcoin wallet, with no withdrawal to request. By card or under the Weared guarantee, Weared collects and pays you out (under the guarantee, once shipping is proven).
